NPT and J.P. Morgan Open DAF Giving Path to Trump Accounts
National Philanthropic Trust and J.P. Morgan have created a mechanism allowing donor-advised fund assets to fund children's Trump Accounts.
National Philanthropic Trust (NPT), one of the largest independent sponsors of donor-advised funds in the United States, has partnered with J.P. Morgan to establish a new pathway enabling charitable assets held in DAFs to make qualified contributions to Trump Accounts — the children's investment savings accounts created under recent federal policy.
The arrangement represents a notable expansion of how donor-advised fund assets can be deployed, connecting philanthropic capital directly to a new category of government-recognized savings vehicle targeted at minors. DAFs, which allow donors to make irrevocable charitable contributions and then recommend grants over time, have traditionally directed funds to nonprofit organizations rather than individual-benefit accounts.

The partnership reflects broader momentum among financial institutions and philanthropic intermediaries to align their product offerings with new federal savings initiatives, potentially opening a sizable pool of donor capital to benefit children whose families opt into the Trump Account program.
